Before you choose a stream or course

Before choosing a stream or course, what matters is what the student is genuinely good at as against what they score in, what the work looks like day to day, and whether there is a second option everyone could accept. Most people change field within about eight years, so this decides the first job rather than the life. Current job demand is a four-year-old forecast by the time a degree finishes, interest and aptitude are different things, and a student pushed into a stream tends to underperform in it — with the cost appearing as marks two years later rather than as an argument today.
